Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 in 1983) is a famous American actor. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost television show, and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After her parents' divorce her parents separated, she moved to Worthington Ohio in order to settle at Los Angeles. Though she struggled financially and in the beginning, she made her acting debut as Rachel's Room's main character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, the character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace was keen to pursue film following her role as Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) as Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. She played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith who's both an avid stargazer as well as a socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. Together with her brother she also appeared on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). She then appeared on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received critical acclaim for her performance in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The year 2006 was the time she starred in several films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). After her successful performance as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Following that, she went on to play in comedies and dramas like Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011), and The Won't Back Down (12). The other roles she played were a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in the film Frank (2014) as well as the title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's debut as a writer and director took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama that won her an award at the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
