Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was a kid she was enrolled in the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma's goal was to be an actor. At the age of 6she was enrolled into the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes in acting, singing as well as dancing. By the time she turned 10, Emma had taken part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was released in 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford Theater instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions, she as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was the year's top earning film, smashing records on opening day as well as the first weekend. The film was praised by critics, as were the performance of three young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's performance "amazing". Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the leading young actress in a Feature Film. She was later awarded five times for her performance in the movie.
