Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress, who has worked on TV and in films is most well-known for her roles in films such as Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her fame was due to her performance as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this female diva.
